After The Word

Scroll

A short film about the complexities of interracial friendship written and directed by Nadia Cavelle and Anita-Joy Uwajeh.

Drama school students Lottie Okafor and Apple Richards become fast friends after Apple speaks up for Lottie when a teacher makes an inappropriate comment about her hair. Yet, at a party, a week away from their showcase, a song is played that changes everything. As they perform a scene together to an audience of agents, they make a strong first impression on the industry, but what of their friendship? Where will they go after the word?
